Black Sticks victory over Korea

UPDATE: New Zealand Black Sticks men won their match against Korea at the Tauranga Hockey Centre today with a full time score of 2-1.

Their win today has put them in the lead of the Malaysia Airlines Summer Series. New Zealand has won two games and Korea one.



Black Sticks men's player Blair Hilton scored in the 47th minute and Marcus Child scored in the 69th minute cementing New Zealand's win against Korea.



Spectators enjoyed some competitive top class hockey action at the first of two matches between the Black Sticks men and Korea at the Tauranga Hockey Centre.

Tauranga Hockey Association media liaison officer Bill Webb says as New Zeland is currently ranked seventh in men's world hockey and Korea is ranked sixth.

He says the series has provided some exciting close fought matches between the two sides with the final match played tomorrow at the Tauranga Hockey Centre at 3pm.
