UPDATED: Firefighters are dealing with a house fire in Papamoa this afternoon.
Northern fire communications shift manager Paul Radden says the fire was "well involved" when firefighters arrived at the scene on Santa Monica Drive just before 12pm.

There are reports that someone has suffered smoke inhilation as a result of the fire.
Multiple fire trucks are at the scene, along with police and St John Paramedics.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters are being called to reports of a house fire in Papamoa this afternoon.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the fire is at a property on Santa Monica Drive.
The house is believed to be completely engulfed in flames.
Police are also closing down the street to allow firefighters to deal with the blaze.
At this stage it is unclear how the fire started.
