Lotto Powerball struck

Powerball First Division has been struck for the second time in just over a week, with a lucky player in Timaru scooping a $7 million New Year's treat in last night's live Lotto draw.

The winning ticket was sold at Timaru Pak N Save in Timaru and is made up of $6 million from Powerball First Division and $1 million from Lotto First Division.

This win comes after a couple from Hamilton, who can be ‘Santa's helpers' for the rest of their lives, took home $7.5 million with Powerball First Division on Wednesday December 30.

The winners plan to pay off their mortgage, help family and keep working, while also donating to their favourite charities including World Vision, Kids Can and the Salvation Army.

Strike Four was also struck last night, with a player from Huntly taking home $341,664. The winning ticket was sold at The Bookshop and Lotto in Huntly.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ ticket-checker app.

Players can phone Lotto on 0800 695 6886 if they want to enquire about the best way to claim a prize.
