The second qualifying round of the Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools Senior Preliminary Tournament & Top 15 Volleyball Championships 2011 got underway on Friday.

Trident college B from Whakatane block a spike from Mount Maunganui college B at the Mount Action Centre on Friday.

About 34 teams of between 10 and 12 players participated in the event.

It was held at the Mount Action Centre and the Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre.

The finals will be held between March 19 to 20.

Otumoetai college B plays against Kawerau college.
