Glen Head had a simple comment when he and his navigator Darryn Todd were crowned world jet sprint champions. 'We came, we saw, we kicked some (butt).”
More than 15,000 spectators packed into ASB Baypark Stadium for this year's Enzed 2016 UIM Jetsprint World Championship last night.

Glen and Darryn operate the Altherm Jetsprint Team boat and the driver couldn't have been happier with the result.
'Yeah mate, it's a bloody good feeling. The whole two weeks has just gone absolutely to plan for us and to win it's wicked mate, we're just rapt.”

The team qualified first heading into the top 16 and 12 and despite the powerful lighting display put on by the weather gods the pair remained calm throughout the night, with Glen regularly pumping out sub-50 second laps setting himself up for the win.
'It was just a dream weekend really. The boat had plenty left in it. We just done [sic] what we had to do to get the win, it's awesome man.”
He says the win was a team effort.
'Everyone in our team work their behinds off and to get this result for us and our sponsors is just absolutely massive.”
He also had plenty of praise for his navigator.
'Toddy he's the dream navigator, he's my best mate, he's my neighbour and we're the best in the world.”
The Kiwi team headed off international teams for the Australia, United States and Canada to take out the championships.
Full results will follow as they come to hand.
