Te Puke batsmen blast two centuries

Two centuries and a two hundred run partnership for the third wicket, took Ultimate Motor Group Te Puke to an emphatic victory against East Bay United, in the penultimate round of the BOP Cup yesterday.

A captain's knock from Tai Bridgeman-Raison who blazed away to post 102, was matched by Tim Clarke who reached a neat three-figure total before dismissal. The pair put on 201 run partnership, which set up the final Te Puke score of 273 for the loss of eight wickets.

In spite of two gritty performances from Brett Sharma (38) who usually features in the bowling statistics, and Alex Yates (37) the Eastern Bay team were removed for 139. Seth Adamson posted the best Te Puke bowling figures returning 3/31, with Sam Gibson, Steven Rae and Luke Erikson grabbing two wickets apiece.
