Trustpower's new Durham Street headquarters is lighting up as the staged occupation moves into its second week.
The first wave of about 80 Trustpower staff moved into the new building last week, says Trustpower community relations manager Graeme Purches.

'There's another bunch on Monday, then another bunch the following Monday. Everyone will be in by the end of the month,” says Graeme.
Energy Minister and Tauranga MP Simon Bridges will officially open the building in early April – after everyone is settled in and back to normal.
The news the new building has been bought by Queenstown investors for $40 million as the 400 Trustpower staff began moving in isn't a surprise.
'That's nothing to do with us,” says Graeme. 'Zariba own the land and they built the building.
'It's pretty predictable really. They own the land, put a $25 million building on it. And having a tenant with a long term lease on it a good solid company like Trustpower.
'They were always going to look at flicking it off, getting their money out of it, making a bit of money on the way and re-investing in the next project.”

I have had all sorts of problems with trustpower. We switched to Gensis energy today and there charges are alot lower. They dangle the Trustpower Tect cheque every year but from what i have heard its only a percentage of the normal savings that you would get any where else. Please be aware what you are getting your self into if you are signnig up.
Really?

Have been using them for years no problems at all. Even better is a great way to support our community in various ways via a small amount each month can't complain myself but then we always pay our bill on time every time helps a little.
Yes I support them too

No point in talking about the importance of community then not supporting Trustpower. It has it faults of course, but at least with TECT being a major shareholder the community gets something back. At least they're also supporting the CBD while other businesses are getting out. But no doubt someone will moan.
