Police northern communications Inspector Andy Brill says they were notified of a petrol-off last night.

The wanted vehicle was spotted by a patrol vehicle about 7.20pm and police pursued it around the back of Whakatane, heading south towards Taneatua.

'The pursuit lasted about 25 minutes.”

Andy believes the occupants of the vehicle were detained by police after 'putting the vehicle in the ditch and running away”.

I cant see why the Servos dont have Pay at the Pump instead. There would be zero drive offs if you had to pay before your fuel was pumped.
