Crusaders fans have a blast

Crusaders fans were out in force at Baypark last night to watch their team beat the Chiefs 34-16.

The 180 people from Christchurch were all given free tickets the the game as part of the 10 Days in Tauranga promotion organised by Tauranga City Council and MP Simon Bridges


Phoebe, Emily and Ethan Pratt from Christchurch got to see the Chiefs play their team for free with the 10 Days in Tauranga promotion.

The group dressed up in black and red for the occasion, with face paint, flags and Crusaders paraphenalia littering the stadium.

The 10 Days in Tauranga package was organised to provide some respite from the tragedy of the Canterbury earthquake and tough times which ensued. Some 50 families were flown up to Tauranga out of 400 nominated for the promotion.

A massive crowd of around 16,500 packed Baypark out to near capacity at the game last night.
