Resurfacing work is due to begin on the Hull Road and Totara Street roundabout in Mount Maunganui tonight.

The road works are weather dependant, but the current forecast indicates they are going ahead.

The work is expected to start at about 6pm and contractors should be off the road before the start of morning peak traffic on Tuesday.

Some minor finishing work will take place during the day on Tuesday.

Tauranga City Council is warning delays at the intersection are likely and motorists are encouraged to use an alternative route on Monday night.
