Search continues for missing man

Police are still investigating the disappearance of 36-year-old man Palmiro MacDonald.

MacDonald was last seen in Levin on the March 23, 2016, around the same time a bach he was staying at Hokio Beach was destroyed by a suspicious fire.

A large number of people have been spoken to in the course of the investigation and Police are still following up a number of enquiries, police say in a statement released today.

'This includes information about some people who assisted in towing a car off the beach at Waitarere. Police would like to speak to the people who helped.

'If you were on Waitarere Beach on Wednesday, March 23, and helped tow a Holden Commodore that was stuck in the sand, we ask that you contact police.”
