Omokoroa nine hole ladies win

The Omokoroa Golf Club's nine hole ladies has won the Bay of Plenty Golf Association Pennant in the final against four other district team winners.

The final was played at Te Teko Golf Club on Monday, May 16.

Pauline Donald, Wendy O'Daly, Mary Ludwig and Kay Whittaker are the pennant winning nine hole ladies from Omokoroa Golf Club.

There were three preliminary BOP central zone challenges against local clubs Golf Pacifica, Tauranga, Omanu, Otumoetai, Mount Maunganui, Renner Park and Te Puke. The Omokoroa team won round three at Te Puke, and was overall winner, thereby qualifying for the district final.

Pennants for nine hole players was first introduced by the Bay of Plenty Golf Association in 2010, with only two of the six zones competing.

Omokoroa also reached the central zone final for last year's challenge, but was runner up on that occasion.
