Penguin aversion training postponed

Unfortunately the Penguin Aversion Dog Training course has been postponed due to forecasts of bad weather over the weekend.

Western Bay Wildlife Trust says they have elected to postpone the courses at Mount Maunganui and Papamoa that were scheduled for this weekend due to the potential of bad weather.

The trust says the scent-based training, using taxidermied penguins and penguin scent, will not be suitable for dogs to train with in wet weather.

Instead, the courses are scheduled to be held on October 1 and 2.

.....if a dog owner is responsible enough to take their dog to one of these classes, they are not going to be the type of dog that requires them
