Let's be honest – being handcuffed and going for a walk isn't everyone's idea of a fun outing.
But for a group of Tauranga locals that's exactly what they'll be doing during the City 2 Surf Fun Run and Walk which starts in Sulphur Point and finishes up at the Mount Surf Club this Sunday.

The Tauranga ‘Handcuffed for Hagar' team will be walking the 5km event of the event and will be handcuffed together in pairs to symbolise the more than 21 million people currently in slavery.
The group are aiming to raise awareness of human trafficking, and funds for the work of Hagar, an international organisation that works with survivors of slavery, exploitation and abuse in Afghanistan, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Tauranga mum and Handcuffed for Hagar team member Victoria Boyd says she was astounded when she learned how prevalent human trafficking had become, but feels hopeful she could do something to help after learning about the work Hagar does.
'After previously feeling like the task was overwhelming and impossible, I had a moment where I realised that among those enormous statistics are individuals whose lives have value and worth.
'To each of those that are rescued, the effort truly does make a difference,” says Victoria.
Hagar promotions manager Sarah Scott Webb says the extent of human trafficking is something most Kiwis don't even realise exists – and would be horrified if they did.
'Every 27 seconds another person is sold into slavery - there's more people enslaved now than any other time in history - and we are wanting to raise awareness of this and do something about it.”
