Taekwondo competitors return

The Han Lee Papamoa Taekwondo club is back in Tauranga after a successful trip to New Plymouth at the weekend for the Taekwondo Union of New Zealand North Island Championship.

The club members left Friday to compete on Saturday in New Plymouth and were among more than 200 competitors in Poomsae (Patterns) and Sparring.

Club leader Karl Warren says the championship was an excellent experience for the competitors.

'We had a small team that travelled a long way and can't wait to do it again; it was a good event with strong competition with an increasing skill level amongst all levels.”
