Greerton Village is pleased to welcome back the wonderful School Scarecrow Competition which is running until this Friday.
The competition is in celebration of the Bay of Plenty Garden & Art Festival and features eight local primary and preschools who've all created scarecrows which are currently on display at several businesses in the village.
The participating schools are Greerton Village Kindergarten, Greenpark School, Gate Pa School, Merivale School, Gate Pa Preschool, Green Park Preschool, Tauranga Intermediate and Greerton Village School.
'We're encouraging people to come into Greerton Village over the next couple of days to vote for their favourite scarecrow,” says Greerton Village manager Sally Benning.
'The scarecrow is an iconic figure in the gardening world and the competition combines the [Garden & Art] festival's artisitic, creative and horticultural facets, as well as giving the students something fun tro do and have the pleasure of showing off their work.”
By casting your vote you'll also go into the draw to win a free pass to the Garden & Art Festival which is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, November 19-20, with the winner to be notified on the Friday.
The scarecrows are on display at Greerton Unichem Pharmacy, Embellish Boutique, Westpac Greerton, MD's Leatherworks, Two Shoes, BNZ Greerton, Manutuke Herbs and First Credit Union Greerton.
