Good morning Sunners and welcome to Saturday. There's plenty of action taking place today, so go get ‘em tiger.
MetService forecasts fine spells and an evening shower or two today, but the weather shouldn't be an issue for the pooches if they're heading along to Walk for Woofs in Otumoetai/Matua this morning, or for humans planning to stay indoors for A Night of Song at Baycourt tonight.
The Walk for Woofs involves pooches and their owners walking from Kulim Park in Otumoetai to Fergusson Park in Matua then back again, starting at 10am and will finish once everyone and their doggies have crossed the finish line.
The event aims to raise much needed funds for SPCA Tauranga and no registration is required, just a gold coin donation for each walk. Refreshments will be available at the finish line. Please note all dogs taking part in the walk must be on leads.
For more information visit SPCA Tauranga's website at: taurangaspca.co.nz/event/walk-for-woofs/
While all-female a capella group Inachord Chorus will be taking Baycourt by storm when they present ‘A Night of Song' tonight, from 7.30pm.
The group will also be sharing the stage with guest soloists John Darke, ‘Team D' duo Dave Wilson and Daniel Pepperell, and Felicity Tomkins.
Inachord member and baritone singer Tory Oliver says the group work year-round to polish and perfect their yearly concert which features a variety of songs and something for everybody.
'We work all year to do one big concert, so our focus is to have a really polished performance for one concert.”
If you're interested in becoming an Inachord member, they're on the lookout for new talent to join their troupe.
Adult tickets to ‘A Night of Song' cost $20 and student tickets cost $15. To purchase and for more information visit: www.baycourt.co.nz
