Funky reggae music for a great cause

Organisers of the Marley NZ All-Stars concerts have announced they'll be supporting the Red Cross November 2016 Earthquake appeal via the Tauranga show on December 9.

Concert-goers will be able to add another ticket to their purchase for a donation of either $10 or $25 to the appeal via online ticketing site Eventfinda up until midnight on Friday, December 2.

'One hundred per cent of these donations will go directly to the New Zealand Red Cross who in turn ensure that this money goes to support the communities most in need at this time,” says Jacman Entertainment's Jackie Sanders.

'This option applies to all current general admission ticket holders as well as any general admission purchases made until midnight on Friday, December 2 and must be done online.”

The Marley NZ All-Star concert which is taking place at Tauranga's Wharepai Domain will features some of New Zealand's biggest artists who'll be paying homage to the life and music of Bob Marley.

Perform his biggest hits like ‘Get Up Stand Up', ‘No Woman No Cry', ‘Stir It Up', ‘Redemption Song', ‘Buffalo Soldier', ‘One Love' and many more will be Tiki Taane, Boh Runga, Logan Bell, Ria Hall, Laughton Kora, Jason Kerrison, Anna Coddington, Fran Kora and P Digsss.

They'll be backed by the NZ All-Stars band, featuring members of Katchafire, The Black Seeds, I Am Giant and Supergroove, including Grenville Bell, Leon Davy, Fran Kora, Lucien Johnson, Barrett Hocking, Paul Russell, Joel Shadbolt, Shelton Woolright and Godfrey de Grut.

While the Modern Maori Quartet crooners James Tito, Maaka Pohatu, Matariki Whatarau and Matu Ngaropo will have fans melting when they open the concert.

Jacman Entertainment presents Marley NZ All-Stars at Tauranga's Wharepai Domain on Friday, December 9, from 5.30pm. Tickets cost $65-$129.
