Police are searching for a man who aimed a gun at police during a vehicle stop in the early hours of December 9.

Although he is of Northland, police caution he may be anywhere in the upper North island, including the Bay of Plenty.

He is 25 year-old Levi Reeves of Kaikohe, and police have warrants to arrest him on a range of matters.

Reeves may have access to a silver Subaru Legacy, a white Mitsubishi Libero, or a white 1993 Mazda Familia.

Police warn he should not be approached. Anyone who sees him should call 111 straight away.
