$15m makeover for Bayfair

Bayfair Shopping Centre is getting a $15 million makeover with work due to occur in two stages, starting in February.
The first stage involves a widening of the entry into Woolworths and a complete refurbishment of the supermarket store.

During this time Woolworths will remain open and trading hours will continue as usual.
Once complete, work will begin on stage two including a new layout at one of the entrances to the front of the centre, a number of new stores and the Bay's first JB Hi-Fi.
JB Hi-Fi offers products such as speakers, televisions, DVDs, VCRs, cameras and car sound.
Centre manager, Andrew Wadsworth, says this is a great investment for the area.
'Tauranga is a growing city and this refurbishment will meet the requirements that this growth demands.
'The numerous jobs being created during construction mean that our local economy will benefit during and after the refurbishment.”
He says that providing greater convenience and more choice for shoppers in a newly refreshed environment is also quite apt as Bayfair approaches its 25th anniversary.
