Promoters for the sold-out Bay Dreams festival have today announced 3000 more tickets will be going on sale.
The extra tickets will be available at 6pm and 7pm on Thursday December 22, via their website.
Since SunLive announced the full line-up in October, demand for tickets to the one-day festival has been huge. Tickets have appeared on Trade Me for more than twice their original price, with some going for as much as $400.
Bay Dreams festival organiser Pato Alvarez says the capacity was always there, but they needed to plan to make sure health and safety was up to scratch, before they released extra tickets.
'It's very popular. We've already got a waiting list of people – 5500 people have signed up to buy tickets.”
He says at 6pm there will be 2000 tickets available for people who sign up via Ticket Fairy, and a further 1000 released at 7pm for those not signed up.
He wishes to emphasise this was not an off the cuff decision.
'There's been a lot of work behind the scenes to get to this stage, and we've been working with professional people to make the decision to release extra tickets.”
