What’s on today? High flying stunts

Looks like another stunning day in Tauranga with plenty to do and see today.

For those of you into high flying acts, Nitro Circus is in town to perform at ASB Baypark.

Featuring 30 of the world's best extreme athletes in freestyle motocross, BMX and Skate, the show is led by two of New Zealand's own, the only man in the world to have performed a quadruple backflip on a BMX, Jed ‘the warrior' Mildon, and FMX World Champion, Levi Sherwood.

Despite rumours on social media, organisers say there is no danger of the Tauranga show being cut short.

Marketing manager Nathan Brown says event times can vary from show to show based on weather issues.

Being the weather is expected to be fine with light breezes in Tauranga, everyone is expected to get their money's worth.

The event is expected to attract thousands of people to Tauranga, so those driving around the city are being warned to expect some traffic delays.

The NZ Transport Agency is warning of traffic disruptions and delays from 10am until 6pm at Te Maunga because of the event.

Specific peak traffic periods to avoid are 11am until 2pm and from 4pm until 6pm. Non-event traffic is advised to use alternate routes.
