The Bay of Plenty Steamers' ITM Cup winning streak is over after they lost to Northland in Whangarei tonight.

Northland exerted much pressure in the first half and at halftime had a points lead of 24-10.

The Steamers were on the board with a try to Same Cane and a conversion and penalty kicked by Dan Waenga.

After the break Northland continued to lead the game and extended its lead out to 30-13.

The Steamers rallied late in the game to catch-up to be behind by seven points, 23-30, but was unable to get ahead and the full time whistle blew with this the final score.
