Te Puke beat Whakarewarewa

Te Puke has won their chance to lift the Bartercard Baywide Premier Rugby Trophy.
With the final score being Te Puke 21-18 Whakarewarewa, after a 50 metre drop goal from Simon Rolleston with five minutes to go.

This weekend was the first chance they had to achieve what for some would have been a dream.

Standing in their way was Rotorua team Whakarewarewa, which has experienced the joy and jubilation of winning Baywide and intercity silverware before.


Whakarewarewa lost to Te Puke Sports in a close game at Greerton Park on Saturday.

Division One: Greerton Marist 31-21 Te Teko
Division Two: Poroporo 19-18 Arataki
Senior Reserve : Mount Maunganui 30-19 Ngongotaha
Colts: Te Puke Sports 25-14 Greerton Marist
