Early morning fog caused numerous flights delays in Tauranga, but also provided exquisite photography opportunities.
A thick blanket of fog covered the town, forcing flights to be delayed or cancelled.

Air New Zealand Tauranga airport manager Bill Reeves says one flight was over an hour late.
'A flight to Auckland was one hour and 55 minutes late; it was due to leave at 6.50am and didn't get away until 8.45am,” says Bill.
'Another flight to Wellington was due to leave at 7.30am and was 55 minutes late, so didn't get away until 8.25am.”
Bill says they also had to cancel a flight from Auckland because of the fog.

It was a happier time for photographers though, although SunLive photographer Bruce Barnard says they are not easy shooting conditions.
'Exposure is the primary concern as it's very white and so the camera underexposes,” says Bruce.
'So I bracket exposures – I shoot some at the recommended exposure and then shoot some that are overexposed.”
