Success for Tauranga Archers

Last weekend saw three members of the Tauranga Archers competing in the ‘Archery New Zealand 40th National Indoor Championships' held down at The B & M Centre Ballroom in Palmerston North.

Palmerston North hosted the North Island Archers while the South Island Archers competed in Dunedin.

Combined results from both venues were finalised earlier this week.

The Nationals consisted of three different rounds of shoots held over two days. There were three bow categories - Recurve, Compound and Crossbow.

Classes ranged from Kiwi Under10 to Master 64 and over.

Tauranga Archers competitor Mykel Turner won the Male Cadet Recurve. Mykel also set a NZ National Indoor Record and NZ Indoor Record for the ‘Updated American Round'.

Another member of the Tauranga Archers Trevor Kennerson placed second in the Male Recurve Master over 50, behind a Whakatane Archer while Kevin Horn from Tauranga Archers came third in the Male Compound Master over 64.
