Two crashes reported in Tauranga

UPDATED 7.20am: Emergency services are dealing with two crashes in Tauranga this morning.

The first is a crash near 15th Ave.

A police spokesperson says the call to the crash came in at 6.35am.

"A traffic light pole has been damaged as a result of the crash and one person has been taken to hospital.

"There is also a crash on Ngatai Road, however, we don't have any further details at this stage."

Reports are coming in of a crash on the corner of 15th Ave and Cameron Road.

There are also reports of a crash on Ngatai Road, where a person is believed to be trapped in their vehicle.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a vehicle has hit either a light pole or power pole.

They say the crash is blocking the road and likely to cause traffic delays.

Motorists are being advised to expect delays or avoid the scene if possible.

Emergency services are at the scene and are working to have it cleared as soon as possible.
