South westerly winds have blown a moored yacht in Pilot Bay onto the beach this morning, as wind gusts continue to pummel the region.
The wind gusting to 22 knots today, is expected to die down this evening and resume blowing again tomorrow, says MetService meteorologist April Clark.
'Looking into tomorrow, it's going to be the same kind of affair, dying down in the evening but getting up during the day.
'It's really only Wednesday when that flow starts to change and we have a high moving on and that changing off,” says April.
'So it's really only Wednesday that those winds will be easing off and be less strong or fresh during the day.”
