Emergency services are dealing with a crash where a motorhome has crashed through a barrier.

The crash is reported to be on Te Puke Highway, near where a new roundabout has been installed near Welcome Bay Road.

A reporter at the scene says the motorhome has also crashed into a lamp post.

"A police officer at the scene says a vehicle travelling from Te Puke to Mount Maunganui has failed to complete the turn at the Welcome Bay roundabout and has left the road.

"It is unconfirmed, but the officer believes the incident may have been medical related."
