Mount Hot Pools woes

In 2017 we suffered a minor inconvenience while changes were made to the car park and entrance system at the Mount Hot Pools to prevent it being used by people not working at or paying to use the pool.

We got a real flash car park with barrier arms and number plate-identifying cameras but none of it works properly, or at all. For three months they have been trying to commission it with no success.

It is rumoured to have cost an unbelievable amount to install and people are endeavouring to make it work without success.

This is not a new thing at this pool as the swipe cards fail on a regular basis, as do some of the pumping and mixing systems.

From time to time we wait because pool attendants and life guards don't arrive or arrive late.

The pool is supposed to be open at 6am for business but this is a ‘moveable feast' and invariably the pool is still being cleaned or prepared for the day.

The staff are extremely helpful and work hard but are currently the butt of criticism from patrons. Someone needs to be accountable and take control.

This is part of council business and is an abject failure, with all costs and losses being borne by the ratepayers. Sort it out and at least be accountable.
