Roads are now free flowing after a logging truck rolled on the western roundabout in Bethlehem, causing traffic chaos earlier today.

Police says a number of logs rolled across the westbound side of the highway, between Moffat Rd and Parau Drive at about 10am.

Road blockages and traffic delays were experienced by police at the time.

Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager acting Senior Sergeant Wayne Hunter says the road was cleared by 12pm.

“There was a substantial amount of bark on the road which had to be cleared.

“The driver of the vehicle is okay and was not injured during the crash.”

Meanwhile, a crash has also been reported in the area at the nearby Z petrol station.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a car has crashed into a wall.

“The car has crashed into a wall and hit another vehicle.”

Those at the scene are calling emergency services.
