Tauranga Boys' College went into lockdown at lunchtime today while police escorted an ‘aggravated and abusive' individual from the school grounds.
In an email to parents, principal Robert Mangan says senior staff made the decision to ensure all students remain in the classes while the young man was escorted from the school.
'We initiated a lockdown until he had left the College grounds. At no stage was the health and safety of your son at risk,” says Robert.
The matter is now being dealt with by the police.
SunLive understands the lockdown was instituted at 12.36pm before the school lunchtime, and lifted at 12.38pm.
