Fatal crash in Morrinsville

One person is dead following a crash in Morrinsville.

A 75-year-old man has died after crashing his vehicle into a fence on Studholme Street, reports Stuff.

"Emergency services were called to the crash in which a car hit a fence near Goodwin Avenue at 3.55pm today," says a statement from police.

"The sole occupant of the car, a man, died at the scene.

"The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and the road is closed. Diversions and traffic control are in place."
