What’s On? Farm Day & French Films

You like cows? Then come check out some cows and other animals at your local Farm Day. File photo.

It's a glorious morning, comrades. The sun is shining, the birds are singing their love songs to one another, and there's peace in our little corner of paradise.

If you had a late night on St Patrick's Day you might not be feeling so chipper, but that's okay.

Everyone deserves a night out, and it's not as if you drink like that every weekend, right?

For those of you who did not partake in the liquor on Saturday evening, and are feeling excited about today's possibilities, we've got a mainly fine day on the cards, with a forecast high of 22 degrees.

Farm Day is on at Andrew and Robyn McLeod's dairy farm at 1189 Welcome Bay Road. This is an opportunity in particular for ‘townies' to come out and see what life is like on a farm, and with free entry, it's an affordable way to spend a Sunday.

There will be displays and activities with a range of farm animals, as well as lolly scrambles in a hay stack for children, plus on entry, children aged up to 12 years can pick up a colouring competition form to enter and be in to win a Warehouse voucher.

Fonterra will have some free drinks onsite, and other organisations such as DairyNZ, Te Puke Young Farmers Club, local farmers and shearers, will also be there to answer questions.

The Farm Day is on from 10am-2pm, and is a chance to say thank you to farmers for feeding us all.

If going rural isn't your thing, and you'd rather have some culture, why not check out Rialto Tauranga's screening of the Alliance Francaise French Film Festival 2018.

Running from March 15-28, the festival invites audiences to 'experience one language and a world of emotions'. Featuring a diverse programme of feature films from France and beyond, the 2018 Alliance Francaise French Film Festival will celebrate 'fresh talent, daring auteurs and a cast of audience favourites'.
