Daylight savings might be over for another year, but the sun was still shining strong on the second to last day of the National Jazz Festival.
Festival director Craig Wilson says there's been a big turnout for the Downtown Carnival on The Strand, where five stages have been hosting bands.
'There's people everywhere from one end of The Strand to the other,” says Craig
'Everyone's happy and probably a little sunburnt, because it's been a cracker of a day.”
Tomorrow the TECT Big Band Bonanza will round off the festival on the waterfront from 10am to 2pm. This free event will feature Auckland's Queen City Big Band and the RNZAF Jazz Orchestra in a show not to be missed, all next to the city's tidal stairs.
There will also be market stalls and entertainment for the kids, making it the ideal way to spend an Easter Monday.
Tonight, there's also the Hurricane Party at Classic Flyers, featuring Isaiah B. Brunt and local band Kokomo. There are still tickets left, and door sales may be available.
