Residents in Windermere were left in the dark following a power box fire.
Firefighters were called to the fire on Windermere Drive at about 7.30pm.
Bekah Amy sent a photo to SunLive showing a fire engine on the street and says there was no power to houses on Windermere Drive and College Place.
SunLive has contacted Powerco to find out when power was restored.
Meanwhile, a power outage is being reported in the Mount Maunganui area this morning.
According to the Powerco website, power is out to 44 homes.
It went out at 5.19am and is expected to be back on at 7.43am.
The cause of this outage is not recorded on the site.

The power to the wider area was out for only about 15-20 minutes, presumably while the power people worked to isolate the burning power box. No real inconvenience providing people remembered where their torches etc were in the dark!
