A forestry worker is recovering in Waikato Hospital after a tree fell on him in the Kaingaroa Forest.

The man was working on a hillside when the tree fell on him, trapping him beneath.

Co-workers worked to free the man from under the tree on Friday, October 21. He was winched from the scene and transported to Waikato Hospital with neck and spinal injuries.
