Members from Tauranga's Riding for the Disabled are some of many to be spotlighted as part of a programme which aims to give exposure to the community's most valuable groups.

The exposure is all apart of Z's Good in the Hood programme which runs every year in the month of May.

'The programme selects four community groups to be positioned at each Z site around the country,” says Z energy spokesperson Kim Gilles.

'These groups are then able to team up with the Forecourt Concierge to wash windscreens for customers and talk with them about what their organisation does.

'This gives the groups valuable exposure within the community. They are able to let locals know what they do, gain donations, volunteers and votes as the most deserving group of the $4000 donation at each site.

'Customers decide how this money gets divided by voting with their orange tokens in store during Good in the Hood.”

Tauranga District Riding for the Disabled has been spotted being represented at Z Palm Beach in Papamoa today.

The team was in full force at the site, equip with equine therapy horses Biscuit and Lily.

SunLive photographer Nikki South captured some of the action.
