UPDATED: 3.05pm. The Waihi Road crash today involved a car coming down the hill that had its suspension collapse as it was going round the bend  - causing it to flip, says a resident.

Cars crash past the bend on the Bethlehem side of the hill all the time, says the woman who did not want to give her name.

“People slide down that hill,” says the resident. “It’s a 50km/h zone and people are doing 80 round that corner. They should put a speed camera there.”
