Spring Street in the central business district will be blocked off this Queen's Birthday weekend as work begins to upgrade the wastewater system.
Fencing closing off the street went up on Thursday and work started with a jack hammer to lift cobbles.
The Strand remains partially closed between Hamilton and Harington Streets, because of ongoing construction in the area.
The fences outside the construction site in Harington Street have been removed and new car parking painted outside the building on the corner site.
Tauranga City Council's weekly bulletin advises repairs to localised wastewater pipeline sections in the CBD area have been scheduled over the following month.
Some of the repairs will be done with remote access repair methods; others will need to be excavated, says Tauranga City Council.
Cameron Road in Greerton village also remains a traffic choke point as significant traffic safety and streetscape improvements are underway. Those works will last until December.
Works in Otumoetai Road, Brookfield Terrace to Darraghs Road south are expected to be finished in early June, says the council.
Road reconstruction works, including kerb and channel replacement and a new footpath, are underway.
Works have been delayed by recent wet weather. Lane closures and detour routes in place. Works are expected to be finished in early June, weather permitting. Expect delays when travelling through this area.
