UPDATED: Bay of Plenty Police are advising motorists that State Highway One, Wairakei, remains closed after a crash earlier this morning .
A crane has arrived to assist with moving the truck and this is expected to take about three hours, says a police spokesperson.
"Detours remain in place. Motorists are thanked for their patience."
EARLIER:
A state highway which runs through the Bay of Plenty Police district is blocked after a logging truck rolled.
A police spokesperson says State Highway 1 is blocked in Wairakei, north of Taupo.
"A logging truck rolled near Palmer Mill Road around 5.40am and the driver is in a serious condition.
"Initial information suggests the road may be blocked for some time and motorists should avoid the area if possible."

Why do we see multiple car crashes every day. Lots of head on crashes car on car. people dying. Haven't they heard about driver skills? Pull your head in.....
