The dilemmas of modern reproduction and four of Shakespeare's greatest creations will come to life on stage at 16th Ave Theatre this winter as part of Arts on Tour NZ.

The Arts on Tour series is bringing seven Kiwi shows to Tauranga this year, including ‘Seed' and ‘No Holds Bard' which will be at 16th Ave Theatre on July 7 and August 5.

Baycourt Presents is collaborating with 16th Ave Theatre to bring the award-winning shows to Tauranga and manager Megan Peacock Coyle says they are definitely worth the price of admission 'and much more”.

'Arts on Tour NZ in Tauranga aims to deliver the highest quality Kiwi-made shows direct to peoples' doorsteps in order to make them accessible to everyone, and this collaboration will certainly help us achieve that goal.”

The first of these two upcoming shows will be the award-winning play ‘Seed' by Elisabeth Easther (Shortland Street, Outrageous Fortune) at 16th Ave Theatre on Saturday, July 7 at 7.30pm.

Winner of the 2014 Adam New Zealand Play of the Year award, ‘Seed' follows four women facing the dilemmas of modern reproduction as they try to get pregnant, stay pregnant or become un-pregnant.

Celebrated Kiwi actor and director Michael Hurst presents his one-man show ‘No Holds Bard' at 16th Ave Theatre on Sunday, August 5 at 7.30pm. Following the show, members of the audience will be invited to a 30-minute post-show Q&A with Hurst.

‘No Holds Bard' features four of Shakespeare's greatest creations – a foul-mouthed Macbeth, a confused Hamlet, a know-it-all Othello, and a really hungry King Lear – who come kicking and screaming into the brain of an aging thespian driven to the brink by the infidelity of his wife and a lack of acting opportunities.

Tickets range in price from $15 to $24.90, plus service fees, and are available online from Ticketek at www.ticketek.co.nz, by phone 0800 TICKETEK or over the Baycourt Box Office counter.
