Reigning champions Te Puke have ignited their campaign to retain their Bay of Plenty junior rugby supremacy, with a spectacular result at the annual Tai Mitchell tournament.
They have defeated Rotorua Gold 102-0 on day one of the event, being staged at Rotorua Boys High School.
Tauranga West appear to be another powerhouse title contender, showing out with a 58-0 win over Galatea.
Another round of group matches is being played today, then semi-finals from 10 tomorrow and finals day begins at 9:30 Sunday.
