Hangar 18 to play Vinyl Destination

The Kiwi band has recently signed an international record deal.

Kiwi band Hangar 18 is set to play at Vinyl Destination in Tauranga this weekend.

Hangar 18 have toured all over the world since forming in 1996 and have recently signed to music label giant Universal Music Group MCA in the Philippines on an Asian wide deal.

This sees the band released and promoted in over 15 countries, including The Philippines, India, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and more, in turn exposing the band to a potentially audience of over 2.5 billion people.

'We are excited to be working with Ricky and the team at Universal, they are all so cool and the market leader in their field,” says the band's singer Tim Allen.

'Our plan of going to Asia first before heading to the usual territories is starting to pay off for us.”.

They have toured and shared the stage with the likes of Silverchair, No Doubt- Gwen Stenfani, Collective Soul, Ocean Colour Scene, Grace Jones, Everclear and many more.

Hangar 18 ventured on an Asia tour in March 2018, that saw them play shows in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The band is also in the running to support US band Paramore with their major arena shows in Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia.

But before all of this, the Kiwi band is set to play an all-ages show at Vinyl Destination, Saturday July 28 from 8pm.
