Two Mount Maunganui centuries took centre stage in the Western Bay of Plenty cricket competitions played on Saturday.

Mount Green batsman Hayden Byrnes smashed 114 as his team posted a massive 324/6 against Te Puke Pickers in the Reserve Grade.

The Mount century maker received plenty of support from Aaron Williams (70) and Ben Prentice (53).

The Mount representatives coasted to an easy victory dismissing their opponents for just 126, with Steve Charman backing up from his six-wicket bag the previous week, to take 5/27.

Tauranga Boys' College, which leads the reserve points standings defended 180 against Greerton Hornets.

Boys' College coach Charles Williams continued his good form with the bat to top score with 92.

The Greerton side was removed for 139, to hand the Tauranga students a comfortable victory.

Daniel Fifita (4/19) and Tom Wakelin (3/41) did the damage with the ball for Tauranga Boys.

Katikati re-inked their credentials in second place defeating Sangha CC.

After posting 236 they bowled the Sangha side out for 169 with Jamie Paton taking five wickets.

Greerton Hornets cruised home with seven wickets to spare against Mount Gold after dismissing the Mount side for 137.

Mount batsman Paul Dunn anchored his side to a big win against Greerton in the B Grade competition.

A spirited 111 from Dunn led the way for his side that posted 306/8 in their 40 overs.

Greerton was rolled for just 78, which moved Mount Maunganui into third place on the points ladder.

The two centuries by the Mount Reserve and B Grade batsmen, were posted alongside Premier master blaster Peter Drysdale, who smashed an unbeaten 140 runs against BOP Indians on the same day.

In other B Grade encounters Grasshoppers retained their position at the top of the standings with a high scoring victory over Albion.

Papamoa lost a relatively close contest to Malwa CC, with Wanderers defeating Katikati.
