Body of missing Hamilton woman discovered in river

The body of a missing Hamilton woman has been found in the Waikato river.

Detective Sergeant Jason Earl says it was discovered at about 12pm.

"Officers searching the Waikato River on the police boat located a woman’s body between Horotiu and Ngaruawahia.

"The body has now been recovered and has been identified as Hamilton woman Mi-Sook Yang, known as Annie, who has been missing since Thursday August 9.

"Police extend their sympathy to Mrs Yang’s family and friends."

The death is not being treated as suspicious and will be referred to the Coroner.
