A forum devoted to all things fun has been celebrated by Lionesses from throughout the city and beyond.

Mount Maunganui Lioness Club have played host to the New Zealand Lioness Clubs Annual Fun Forum, at Mount Sports Centre on Friday night.

The event has been attended by more than 100 Lionesses including Australian Lioness guests, says publicity spokesperson Shirley Richardson.

'It's a matter of us all getting together in a fairly informal way, sharing with one another what we do and swapping notes, and having a good time.”

The annual event is hosted by a different club each year.

This year around Mount Maunganui Lionesses are not only celebrating the second time hosting it in a matter of five years, but they are also celebrating 30 years as a club.

'To celebrate it, the theme for the weekend was ‘Party, Party' and everyone dressed accordingly on Saturday night.

'The best dressed club without a doubt was Mercury Bay Lioness Club, dressed as cupcakes in keeping with the birthday celebration.”

Shirley says the Mercury Bay club will also be hosting next year's Fun Forum at Whitianga.

'A great time was had by all, catching up with old friends and making new ones and we are all looking forward to catching up next year at Whitianga.”

The weekend was completed by an excursion of either a harbour tour or a wine tasting experience at Mills Reef Winery on Saturday, and a breakfast on Sunday which included an inspirational talk from speaker, Steffi August.

The Club's next major project is their 19th Annual Book Fair to be held Auckland Anniversary Weekend 2019.

'We are seeking donations of Books, Puzzles, CD's, DVD's and Vinyl Records,” says Shirley.
