Police are investigating reports of an aggravated robbery in Tauranga.

It’s been reported that two people were involved in an aggravated robbery at the Girven Road Micro Mart.

A police spokesperson confirmed to SunLive that they received a call to the incident at about 8pm.

“Two people involved, police are continuing to make inquiries today.”

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says they have been told that the alleged offenders where armed at the time, but this has not been confirmed by police.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
