Event director Pam Brodie says the Tauranga Boys' College versus Whakatane High School match on the Ryder Consulting court is one to watch.

A second highlight is expected to be Mount Maunganui College Boys versus Rangitoto College on court one at 6pm.

'Then at 8pm on the Ryder Consulting court, Trident High School Boys A take on Otumoetai College Boys A, and on court one Western Heights High School Boys A play One Tree Hill College Boys.”

In the girls' division, the top of the table clashes are all at 8pm.

Mount Maunganui College Girls play Whakatane High School Girls on the Volleyball BOP Centre court and Mangere College Girls play Sir Edmund Hillary College Girls on the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic court.

Pam says Tauranga Girls' College A plays Trident High School Girls on court five and Otumoetai College Girls A plays Bethlehem College Girls A on court six.

She says there were some mixed matches on Monday.

'The quickest set of day one was 25-2, and the closest was an epic third set match where Otumoetai College Boys B defeated Napier Boys' High School Blue, 25-21, 21-25, 18-16.”

The event continues until Sunday.
