Fireworks is being put down as the cause of a fire in Papamoa East.
The Papamoa Volunteer Fire Brigade were called to the fire at the reserve opposite Gibson Place, at 7.18pm.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Megan Ruru says it took the crew about an hour to put the blaze out.
"The fire was on a piece of grass opposite a waterway.
"It was about 30sqm."
Megan says the fire was out just after 8pm.
"It looks like it was fireworks related."

Fireworks again tonight and is it the 6th of November or the 5th... More fires in Papamoa.
